actually it's been more than that.
"WHOA? WHAT? HEY! i forgot this guy existed!" you may be asking yourself...if i even have friends that havent deleted me because of my year long hiatus. this isn't a comeback...it's merely a check in to say "hey i'm alive" for anyone who cares.
i went back and read all my posts. i noticed i was drunk a lot and didn't make a lot of sense. and also i was really really sappy. a lot. i forgot about the picture of the drag competition i was in. i may have to move that one over to myspace. oh, the nostalgia.
anyway, just saying hello.
see you all again in a year!

i was smoking in the garage a few minutes ago when i noticed a can of BUG OUT Wasp & Hornet spray. The directions are as follows:
"Aim nozzle at nest and depress actuator until nest is encased in foam. Repeat as necessary. DO NOT APPLY DIRECTLY TO FOOD."
do not apply directly to food? what??? that seems completely random. also, is it okay to apply it INDIRECTLY to food?

1. check out www.system-slave.com.
2. i read an article that made me laugh until i couldn't breathe. here it is : "A mixup at a company that makes compact disks resulted in rock music with lines like 'God told me to skin you alive,'being shipped to radio stations labeled as religious music.
"The Southern Baptist Radio-TV Commission, which markets a weekly religious program called "Powerline," is calling more than 1,200 radio stations across the country to warn them that some CDs it sent out for religious broadcasts are mislabeled.
"The CDs are supposed to contain inspirational talks and music. They are actually the alternative rock band Dead Kennedys' album, 'Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.'"

5:12 am - hmph.

so tonight was the semi finals of the karaoke contest....
and i got the big DQ.
and i don't mean Dairy Queen.
apparently taking off your clothes and jumping up on a table and trying to light yourself on fire in a suburban-right-wing-george-bush-loving-bar will count against you in a karaoke contest. so if ever you are in a karaoke contest in suburbia, dont strip down to your underwear with a book of matches, because you WILL be DISQUALIFIED.
so there ya have it. i lost. not because i wasnt the most talented, but because people are afraid of a man's areolas. good luck to Tim, the guy who won. the guy who stood in front of the monitor and read the words to a terrible country song right off the screen and didnt move around very much. it's going to be too bad when he gets annihilated at the finals at Oktoberfest.
i will be posting pictures of the competition very soon. there are some really neat ones. heh.
current mood: fucking pissed off. bitch.

2 wednesdays ago i was in a karaoke contest in which i place in the top 2 to qualify for the semifinals...
in said karaoke contest, apparently i was up against ROB, the former lead singer of my new band, System Slave. and i beat him. HAHAHHAA. a bit ironic, eh?

4:13 am - nerves of STEEL
|
here's the deal...
so jerry (drummer-System Slave) calls me tonight and says, "Surprise! We have a gig!" it isn't until December tho, but FUCK...those 2.5 months are going to go by really quickly. apparently we are going to open for a band called Mystic Syntax, which i have actually heard of. He said we had an invite to open for Only Flesh for next wednesday but THANK GOD he turned that down because we are REALLY not ready for a show so soon. i'm not sure of the date of the show, but i know it is in early-mid december.
also, i brought up covering "Smothered Hope" by Skinny Puppy. Jerry seemed interested and Chad (guitar) is a big SP fan so it should be kinda neat to cover a song that only SP fans have heard of. Maybe we'll play that song while i am covered in pig's blood. hahaha that would be neat.
anyway. tonight, went to skully's and had a pretty good time. got toasty with my friend Rod and i performed Recoil/Repent for him in the empty parking lot. he dug it. He actually said "That's very Jim Morrison." even tho i was going for more of an Iggy Pop performance. guess i dropped the ball on that one...

went bowling sunday night. my scores were : 158, 148, 131, 107, 171. that's pretty good, i think.
keep trying to get out of work early on monday nights so that i can make it out to drunk rock karaoke. havent been there in ages.
want a hair cut. but i am waiting for it to grow out a bit so i can go back to a mohawk...for the third time.
T minus 8 days until the karaoke semifinals at Lucky's. i'm starting to think i can sing a little bit... seeing as how i got 3rd out of 24 in the last competition i was in, i am 1 of 6 in the karaoke semifinals this time, and that whole being the lead singer of a band thing...
nice segway...
so chad (guitar-system slave) calls me today, and he seems really frustrated at how slow the band is moving. he wants to get shit done so that we can start playing shows. and i agree with him. we still have to practice and re-record "Recoil/Repent" and "Innocent" as well as get a chorus for "Evil" (the new song). so we scheduled a makeshift practice for Tuesday night.
i guess that since i am now in a heavy metal band, i should get that giant tattoo of a naked woman, holding a flaming sword, while riding on the back of a dragon now. and i'll get it right on my ass.
also, the goddamn evil scheme has been postponed YET AGAIN, due to new information reguarding a certain person who is about 6'3, 250 and his brother who is the same size. more details as the fairy tale unfolds.

things are going well. a little TOO well, actually.
last night i entered a karaoke contest and placed #1. i now advance to the semi-finals in 2 weeks.
i also won the lottery pick at karaoke which gave me $75 to take home with me last night.
i am the lead singer for a really frickin' sweet band.
i've been banking an ass load of money at work.
the people that i want to call me are calling.
my brother and i are getting closer and hanging out with each other again.
i'm waiting for the backlash. in a couple weeks...everything is going to SUCK.

For the first time, i babysat my twin nephews, Ivan and Jonah, who are two years old. I babysat them ALONE. i have pretty limited experience with children under 5 and i have never been responsible for their well being.
i sat down with them at 8:30 this morning, while i fed them french toast and pineapple chunks and made a deal with them. i said "Ivan, Jonah... i only ask one thing of you today. Don't die. is it a deal?" and Jonah looked at me and said "It's a bus!" i understood that as "yes jeremy. we wont accidentally die while you're watching us today." but no sooner than i cleaned them up after eating did Ivan go and get his leg stuck between the recliner and the handle that reclines the chair. but i saved him and we watched the Wiggles and looked at farm animal books.
and now onto something completelyt different...
the funniest thing that i saw this week was in an entry by harg that said...and i quote...
"Jennifer Carpenter (White Girls), is fucking hot when she speaks in aramaic, hebrew, and latin (or whatever the fuck different languages she speaks). She's fucking sexy eating bugs, and when her pupils are dialating... I get a woody johnson." thanks for that, Nick!
ON THE BAND FRONT: i visited www.system-slave.com and the band had this to say on the NEWS page...
"NEW LINEUP: System Slave has gone through Several incarnations over the past 4 years. We have strived to break into the local music scene, though constant setbacks involving lineup changes and obligations outside of the band prevented this from happening. All that is about to change...System Slave's current lineup will be announced shortly. [i wonder who they could be talking about!!!!]
NEW MATERIAL: We are currently in the process of re-recording Innocent and Recoil Repent to accurately portray our current lineup. These songs will be available for download here at System-Slave.com as soon as they are complete. A full EP will be soon to follow."
also, we are about to start rehearsing a new song called EVIL this coming sunday. most of the lyrics are from a poem called DEPRESSED that faceeater wrote about 8 years ago. i changed some of the lyrics and the band is excited to start work on this song. thats all for now!

weekend update. for the week of sept. 5-11.
M Sept 5: worked.
T Sept 6: worked. recieved the demo MP3 of the audition with System Slave. thanks to joe, faceeater, for downlaoding and burning it to cd for me. for i have DIAL UP and don't know how i am living with it. the demo was pretty good, actually. i am off a bit, especially during the aggressive parts. but over all, it sounds neat.
W Sept 7: karaoke night @ Lucky's. found out that there is a karaoke contest this wednesday and next wednesday. time to break out the sparklers again. made plans with Darby, the karaoke MC, for an afterhours get together at his house after Lucky's closes. got a phone call around 2:15 a.m. and ABORTED the evil scheme. Evil Contengency Plan went into effect.
R Sept 8: worked.
F Sept 9: worked. made the post work pilgrimmage to Waffle House with Nakia.
S Sept 10: went to the movies and saw Exorcism of Emily Rose. scary fucking flick. loved it. want to see it again and again. the i worked. watched in horror as the buckeyes blew the game against texas in the last three minutes. went to Cosmos after work with rod and jen to drown my sorrows. got a phone call. ABORTED Evil Contingency Plan. Evil Scheme A was rebooted and launched for the second time. no matter what happens, Evil Scheme A is a go. i cannot keep putting on the backburner. was very drunk when i got home.
S Sept 11: woke up and drank an ENTIRE carton of orange juice and then moved onto to a carton of Berry Ade. got dressed and left for band practice only to get a phone call from Chad (guitar, System Slave), to tell me that Jerry (drummer) was sick and that practice was cancelled. Chad emailed me an ass load of MP3s for me to write lyrics to. i will start on that immediately.
plans for tonight? dunno. i'll tell you tomorrow. heh h eh

3:36 am - RAH RAH

very busy day, sunday was. in the early mornign hours (3 a.m.) i was up practicing "Innocent," the song by Sustem Slave that i was supposed to learn for the audition at noon. 10 a.m. rolled around and i headed to a meeting at work. after work, 11 a.m., i went to kroger and got a honey bear so that i could sooth my voice before the noon audition.
while driving to the audition, i was on 270, just past easton, pulling the saftey seal off the honey bear with my teeth. i noticed, about 100 years in front of me. A CAR COMING AT ME HEAD ON, ON THE FUCKING FREEWAY. i calmly flipped my turn signal, and changed lanes to the slow lane and watched to car rocket past. about 8 seconds later, six cop cars shot past me. woo hoo a high speed chase! i didnt get to watch the news to see what happened so if anyone knows the final outcome of the high speed chase on 270, let me know!
BAND AUDITION: i met with chad and jerry and sang Innocent a few times and then The Game a couple times. i was the most comfortable with The Game so we recorded it. they're supposed to email me a copy of the MP3 and im pretty anxious to hear how it sounds. i was really nervous so i wasnt on top of my game but they sent me and email titled THE VERDICT. within the email, was basically how they felt about the session and whether they want me to come back. and the verdict was.... COME BACK NEXT WEEKEND! WOOOO! they said that i do have some control issues, which i am aware of, but they see a lot of potential in the way we meshed at the audition. we sounded better than i thought we would. those guys are fucking awesome musicians and i am lucky toi even be invited back. i see good things coming.
went home. went to work. after we closed i had a couple beers and was talking to Nakia, a really REALLY hot 1/2 asian 1/2 caucasian girl that i work with. we ended up leaving, going to the waffle house for hash browns and then to the lions den to poke at the pocket pussies. (the pocket pussies don't really feel much like a real vagina at all, for those who have never touched one.)
it's been a real busy day and now i think i am going to go to sleep. or maybe try and kill COunt Dooku for the 300th time on my Star Wars Episode III video game. i can't beat the sonofabitch. he keeps running me through with his lightsaber!
The End....

so i'm all graduated. the degree is hanging on the wall and im thousands of dollars in debt. yee haw. and what are my plans after college?
graduate school? No. finding a decent job? No. becoming a rockstar? YES!
i got an invitation by the band System Slave to try out for vocals. I've been in contact with Jerry, the drummer, and things sound promising. i'm not sure that my voice is what they'll be looking for because i don't have a dark voice what-so-ever so if they actually want me to sing for them they will definately sound different than in the recorded tracks i've heard from them. i'm meeting up with them Sunday at noon so we can play around a little, play a couple songs and see if we mesh. we'll see. if they like me, i'm sure we'll get busy writing/practicing/playing out/recording. if we don't hit the sound we all like, then i guess i'll be back to my resume and waiting tables!
